Why Most Business Plans Fail Before the First Meeting

The business plan is not the problem. The thinking behind it is. Most owners start typing before they figure out what the document needs to do.

An SBA lender wants to know if cash flow covers debt service. A private investor wants to know when they get their money back. A franchise committee wants unit economics. These are three different documents, not variations of the same one.

The investor presentations closed a multi-million-dollar capital raise.

From One LLC to Five Entities — and $50K in Annual Tax Savings

A $5M pet care operator was running three business lines through a single LLC. I identified $40K–$60K in annual tax overpayment, uninsured cross-business liability, and a corporate structure that made franchise expansion impossible. Built a five-entity holding company structure with operating agreements, S-Corp election strategy, and franchise-ready infrastructure. Implemented in 90 days.

A commercial tenant needed an LOI for a competitive lease acquisition. Business Plan That Secured an SBA Loan

A pet care franchise operator needed financing for a multi-unit expansion into three new markets. I built a complete business plan with a three-scenario financial model — conservative, base, and aggressive — with unit economics broken down by location. The conservative scenario modeled 60% occupancy for the first six months. The SBA approved the loan on the first submission.
